How it works
We only use positive, gentle training methods. The end product is a team - a person and dog working together happily, and understanding each other completely. We teach the students in our training program to appreciate how a dog thinks. We don't just teach them how to get their dogs to sit; we also teach canine behaviour, body language, bonding, breed suitability, characteristics, pack relationships and leadership -- all the different factors which make up the best relationship with your dog.
The second part of our training is adapted according to individual needs, such as:
-
picking up objects
-
opening and closing doors
-
turning lights on and off
-
helping you up from the floor or off a chair
-
assisting dressing
-
all of these skills, and more!
The framework and material is adapted from TOP DOG, and being constantly improved as the programme develops. It is not-for profit and run strictly on a cost-recovery basis, where costs such as the purchase of TOP DOG materials and some unavoidable overheads, will have to be passed on. Depending on circumstances this may include review of Client Application papers and submissions, etc. Please note that dogs joining this program need to be tested for suitability prior to acceptance.
